WILSON CENTER

Movement is life to the body.

If you are participating in sports, practicing yoga, attending exercise classes or weight training on your own, your goals are most likely health, fitness, energy and weight control. If you are performing on an organized team, perusing an individual challenge like a triathlon, conquering the black diamond or rowing The Head of the Charles, your goals are measurable. Speed, agility, strength, power and endurance all matter to you!

Performance in sports, at any level, is a complex blend of biomechanical function under neurological control, emotions, nutrition and training techniques. Wherever you are on this continuum from fitness to recreational to high level elite athlete, there are techniques to make you better.

When your CORE is trained to activate correctly, it can become functional and your body is ready to develop skill, strength, speed, agility, balance, and endurance.

HOW AM I GOING REACH MY PERFORMANCE GOALS?

We provide NeuroCatalytic Training™, the missing link in your personal training program.

Your body knows how to move because your nervous system gives it instructions. The quality  and speed at which these instructions are delivered to the muscles  determine how efficiently you develop skill, strength, speed, agility, balance, and endurance.

Simply stated, we will train your nervous system in order to achieve your full potential of movement. Our specialized training protocols are available to anyone wanting to become more functionally fit or to excel in their specific sport.

HOW DOES THE NEUROCATALYTIC TRAINING™ PROGRAM WORK?

At the Wilson Center, we focus on patient-centered, evidence-based, lifestyle medicine. On your first visit, you will discuss your concerns and goals with Dr. Wilson. She will determine which exams, evaluations and/or tests are required to ultimately construct your personalized training plan. Your sports performance program will include a functional movement screening and movement pattern analysis. Dr. Wilson will also evaluate your stabilization system at a neurological level.

We do on-site blood draws including cellular micronutrient testing, cardiometabolic risk factors, thyroid adrenal function, hormonal panels and genetic markers and telomere length. These tests provide us with a detailed level of information that is unavailable with traditional testing. Without proper nutrition your tissues will not perform or recover efficiently. This can compromise your performance no matter how well you train.

You will receive personalized diet considerations and food plans, nutraceutical grade supplement recommendations and advice on lifestyle choices.

The sports performance program requires one-on-one time with Dr. Wilson to treat and train your neuromuscular system. The timing and progression of your program will be athlete-specific based upon your sport and goals. Olympic gold medalists and professional athletes have sought out Dr. Wilson for her knowledge, skill, experience and reputation.
